Creating and "Editing" Custom Quick Filters

Sarah Paterson -

Quick Filters can provide an easy way to filter your users, submissions, and awards, depending on the section of the site you are in.

There are certain quick filters that are automatically created for you when you create your site. For more information please see the documentation: Filter Users or Filter Submissions. This documentation will provide more information on how to Apply a Quick Filter to your Manage Users or Manage Submissions section, as well as how to create filters for the corresponding section in your site.

Creating a Custom Quick Filter

  1. First you will need to create the filter you wish to make into a quick filter
  2. Once you have the filter set up to your liking
  3. Underneath the filters, there is the option to enter a Quick Filter name, enter a name that will help you to identify this quick filter for future use
  4. Click to Save the Quick Filter
  5. Once the Quick Filter has been saved Apply the Filter

You will now see your new filter at the bottom of your screen. When hovering over the filter you will see an X appear next to the Filter Name, this gives you the ability to Delete the filter. You will notice that the filters that were created automatically do not have the ability to be deleted.

Custom Quick Filters are only available to you in the site. You also cannot edit a Quick Filter. If you need to make a change to a Quick Filter you will need to Create a new Quick Filter and delete the old one.

"Editing" a Custom Quick Filter

There is unfortunately no easy way to simply edit a Quick Filter that already exists. In order to make a change to a Quick Filter:

  1. Click on the Quick Filter at the bottom of the screen in order to apply it
  2. Click on the Green Filters Active button in the top right corner of your screen
  3. Here you will see the filters that are applied within the current Quick Filter
  4. Make the necessary changes you need to make to the Quick Filter
  5. The process moving forward will be the same as creating a new filter, as that is what we will be doing.
  6. Once you have the filter set up to your liking
  7. Underneath the filters, there is the option to enter a Quick Filter name, enter a name that will help you to identify this new quick filter for future use
  8. Click to Save the Quick Filter
  9. Once the Quick Filter has been saved Apply the Filter

You will now see both your old and new filters in the Quick Filters section. If the old filter is no longer relevant, click to Delete it.
